Yoga has been growing in popularity in the last couple of years. I started doing yoga several years ago and it has become one of my favorite forms of exercise. I love using yoga as a workout; it stretches my muscles and helps me relax and sleep better. I started using yoga in my routine several years ago when I found out all the health benefits. A year or so later I added meditation into my yoga routine to step up my game and it really made a difference. I started adding oils into the mix for the ultimate self-care routine ever.
Meditation
Meditation is good for your body and soul. Studies have shown that meditation leads to greater mental clarity, lower levels of stress and reduced anxiety. Also, recent scientific evidence confirms that meditation nurtures the parts of the brain that contribute to well-being. It also seems that a regular practice deprives the stress and anxiety-related parts. The only downfall is that for meditation to be beneficial it must be practiced daily. If you don’t set a schedule for your meditation, your brain can revert back to its old ways and it breaks the habit. I like to practice meditation after doing yoga, I am already calm and relaxed so it’s an easy transition from one to the next.
Yoga
Yoga is similar to meditation for what benefits they have for your body. The most important part of yoga is making sure you practice it consistently. It is amazing for helping bring relief to people who have anxiety and stress. It lessen the chance of Heart Disease, increases metabolism and helps digestion, increased lung capacity, better posture, improved sense of balance, helps lower blood sugar levels and can help with chronic back and neck pain.
I personally like to follow a video to help me time my practice. These videos are highly recommended by my upper cervical chiropractor. https://amzn.to/2CULbus They have several different routines per disc and a couple DVDs to choose from, I want to eventually buy the whole set! I also love this non-toxic yoga mat, most mats are made out of a bunch of gross chemicals and if your trying to live a more natural lifestyle this is the mat for you! https://amzn.to/2S7DTrO
