You come in contact with more and more toxins than ever before. Cleaners, air fresheners, and conventional beauty products. They all take a toll on our bodies and affect the ways our bodies work. Toxin overload can affect so many parts of your body and can lead to so many other health concerns. There are toxins in the air from factories, cars, trains, fires, and others. Sounds scary right? Because it is. But you can learn to detox your body naturally and affectively.

Detoxing from the inside
Detoxing from the inside out is a great way to start, but can be hard on you depending on the number of toxins your body has built up. Some small daily changes can help your body detox on its own. Drinking adequate water every day can help flush out toxins, especially in the kidneys. Lowering stress can help you keep your body in tip top shape and boost your liver’s ability to filter out the toxins. Adding organic lemon juice or lemon essential oil can add extra benefit.
Food also has a huge role in our bodies ability to filter out toxins. Organic is the best! If you can’t always afford everything organic, soaking them in water with a drop or two of OnGuard essential oil then rinse well. This helps to clean the pesticides off of the produce. It won’t completely remove all of the pesticides but will lessen the amount you ingest.
Drinking good quality teas, especially green tea can support your everyday detox. Fresh juices are amazing for your body and celery juice is especially good for detoxing your body. It is especially good for detoxing the liver. Here are some good recipes from Modern Honey for detoxing juices. I love fresh juice but don’t always have time to make it in the morning. It’s something I want to work on picking it back up again.
Around your house, there are so many heavy metal and toxic chemicals that you should work on removing from your home. Candles, wax warmers, and all artificial fragrance should be removed from your house. Use a natural laundry soap and dryer sheets. Using wool dryer balls are also a great zero waste option. Using stainless steel instead of non-stick is a hard swap for a lot of people. It is hugely beneficial to not cook your food in a chemical lined skillet. Did you know that a lot of dishes and glasses contain lead? Tamara Rubin has a lot of amazing resources and article’s that can help you have a safe kitchen. I “detoxed” my kitchen last year and some things were a hard adjustment but I have grown used to it.
Other ways that you can help your body naturally detox is by limiting your chemical use. By switching out your chemical cleaning products and making your own. Switching out your body products and switching to a natural aluminum free deodorant. Most toxic chemicals are absorbed through your skin and can cause so many problems. I have suffered from super sensitive skin my whole life and using doTERRA’s natural products have been a life changer. I always struggled with getting really bad rashes from deodorant until I switched to a natural deodorant. Heavy metals should be the last thing we are applying to our bodies every single day.
Exercise is a great way to help your body naturally detox. By working out and sweating you help your body to sweat out your toxins. So doing cardio a few times a week to get your sweat on can help you detox. Going to a sauna can also be very beneficial to detoxing naturally. Just remember to drink plenty of water before and after for the best results.
Taking a detox bath is one of my favorite things to do! Using Epsom salt, apple cider vinegar, baking soda, and Zendocrine essential oil with hot water can help to detox and is a good way for kids to detox. Just don’t let them drink the water. You can also take Zendocrine internally for added benefit. Dry brushing every day but especially before taking a detox bath can help with cellulite and detoxing through the skin. Also the use of a detox mask to help draw the toxins out of the pores of your face.
By implementing one or more of these things, you should see a change in your symptoms. Since detoxing I have seen such a change in my sleep, digestion, and my night anxiety has improved. I have seen so many positive changes from detoxing and it doesn’t cost a lot of money to do any of these things. It just takes time and commitment to do these things regularly and consistently.
I hope you will implement one or more of these into your life and get started on your detoxing journey.
